If you are reading this you are probably a Paralenz owner already, or well on your way towards becoming one!

In that case, you are exactly where you should be! We have compiled this article for you, to make sure that you get the most out of your Paralenz Dive Camera. Nothing worse than getting back from a dive to find out that your recording has been lost. To avoid that we urge you to read the manual of the camera and have a read through this article.

Here are a few things that you need to remember about, to ensure the best result and experience.

1. SD card

It is crucial to have the right SD card! If you are not using the recommended SD card, your camera will not perform as it should. Things that can be avoided are freezing of the camera and not saving the footage.

The SD-cards we recommend and have tested to perform the best are:

Sandisk Extreme Series
Sandisk Extreme PRO Series
Sandisk Extreme PLUS Series

NOT SUPPORTED: We have few customers that were using Samsung SD cards, with the recommended speed (U3). Paralenz however, doesn’t support the Samsung cards!

2. Updated Firmware

To ensure that your camera always have the latest features make sure to keep your camera updated with the most recent firmware before you go for a dive.

Having the most recent firmware (together with the right SD card) will eliminate cases where the camera “freezes” and does not save the files on the SD card. Another problem that can be solved by that is quick discharge of the battery, incorrect work of the Depth-controlled Color Correction and unstable connection with the Paralenz Dive App.

The easiest way to update to the latest firmware is to do it through the app. Make sure to have the latest app version installed. If there’s is an update to the camera, the app will prompt you to download and install it.

You can also download and install the latest firmware manually here.

3. Maintaining SD card

Having the correct SD card is one step closer to the success. What you need to remember as the end user is to format the SD card after you have cleared the footage from it.

Don’t worry, it is a simple procedure! All you need to do is to follow these simple steps:

  1. After copying the files to your app or computer insert the SD card to the slot and turn on the camera.
  2. Move the selector ring to “settings” and use activation switch to move to “advanced”.
  3. Find the function “format” and activate it.
  4. You are now ready to shoot the most amazing underwater videos in the easiest way possible!
